Five area student-athletes are up for First National Bank High School Athlete of the Week honors.

This week's nominees are David Gross of Bucksport, Lauren Cook of Calais, Derek Collin of MDI, Silver Clukey of Winslow and Cait Tracy of Hermon.

David Gross of the Bucksport wrestling team set a new record for the state's fastest pin on Saturday at Morse High School in Bath. Gross, a junior, pinned Morse's Hayden Thompson in just 4 seconds. Brett Gerry of Marshwood was the state's previous record holder. Gerry set the bar with a 5-second pin in Dec. 2014.

Lauren Cook of Calais scored 18 points in the Blue Devil's 83-32 victory against Bucksport last Tuesday. Cook scored 22 in last Monday's 52-21 triumph over Washington Academy. On Jan. 12, the junior scored her 1,000th career point in a win against Sumner.

Derek Collin of MDI scored 26 points in the Trojans' 63-51 victory against Orono last Tuesday. Collin, the Big East Conference’s leading scorer, chipped in eight points in last Friday's defensive slugfest against Hermon. The Hawks defeated the Trojans 38-29.

Silver Clukey of Winslow scored a game-high 24 points, including six three-pointers, in the Black Raiders' 54-30 victory over Oceanside last Tuesday. Clukely followed that up with an 18-point performance against Mount View on Thursday. She knocked down four triples in the 51-27 victory.

Cait Tracy of Hermon scored a game-high 18 points in the Hawks' 47-33 triumph over the MDI Trojans on Thursday night. It was Hermon's first game since their 45-37 victory against Oceanside on Jan. 11, when Tracy poured in 22 points. She's averaging 15.7 points per game, third-best in the Big East Conference.

Voting is restricted to once every 24 hours. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23.
