Washburn's Carsyn Koch has done it again. Over the weekend in Georgia, the Cedarville University sophomore won the 800-meter and 1,500-meter events at the National Christian College Athletic Association meet.

Koch was named Athlete of the Meet for her two wins.

Next on the schedule - the NCAA DIvision II Outdoor Championship in Florida during Memorial Day weekend.

It has been quite a year for the Washburn native.

She won the D-II Indoor 800m title back in March. In late April Koch ran a 2:02.39 time at the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford and that time was fast enough to get her to the U.S. Olympic Trials in early July.

Now with the NCAA title behind her, Koch goes for the NCAA outdoor title in two weeks.

Koch won multiple cross country and basketball championships at Washburn HS.

NOTE:  Carsyn Koch is a guest on the Morning Pitch Show with Dale Duff and Brian Stackpole this morning at 7:35am.
