UMaine quarterback Marcus Wasilewski has been named the CAA Football Student-Athlete of the Year. The senior QB won the league's top academic award from a list 137 players earning spots on the CAA All Academic team.

Wasilewski graduated from UMaine in December with a degree in kinesiology and physical education. He is now pursuing a Masters degree at UM.

Wasilewski won the Dean Smith Award presented annually to the university's top student-athlete. He also won the CAA Chuck Boone Leadership Award.

On the field, Wasilewski threw for over 6,500 yards and 52 touchdowns. This past fall he led the Black Bears to their first ever home playoff game.

Five other UMaine players were named to the CAA All Academic team.
