A man and his girlfriend from Westport Island face drug charges after police found drugs and guns at the man's home.

Roger Gingrass, 37, is charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. His girlfriend, Alicia Hallstrom, 36, faces a charge of heroin possession.

Police say they found 33 grams of heroin, a half pound of marijuana and a shotgun in Gingrass' home on 6 Ferry Road. The street value of the seized heroin is $6,600, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The arrests came after a 3-month investigation of heroin trafficking in Lincoln County. DEA Commander Scott Pelletier said the investigation showed that Gingrass traveled to Massachusetts on a regular basis to purchase bulk heroin  and then returned to Westport where he would repackage the drug and sell it from his house.

Both were arrested and taken to jail, where bail was set at $25,000 for Gingrass and personal reconnaissance for Hallstrom.
