University of Southern Maine shortstop Sam Dexter (Messalonskee HS) has been drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 23rd round of the MLB Draft.

Dexter was the 686th overall pick in the draft.

Sam Dexter: The former Messalonskee HS star completed a brilliant four year career for the Huskies as a two-time Division III All-American. He owns several USM school records, including career hits.

 

Cody Dube: Former Windham HS standout RHP was selected in the 10th round (#301 overall) by the Baltimore Orioles. He was the LEC Pitcher of the Year (same conference as USM) for Keene State College in New Hampshire. Dube is just the second player drafted from the school.

Joe Cronin: Former Scarborough HS standout INF was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 34th round (#1,023 overall). Cronin is playing for the Boston College Eagles at an NCAA Regional.
