The New England Patriots gave rookie quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo the keys to the offense in the preseason finale which was won by the New York Giants 16-13.Garoppolo was the only quarterback to step on the field for the Pats as he battles Ryan Mallett for the role of Tom Brady's back-up. He completed 22 of 42 passes for 284 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Garoppolo's 33 yard scoring strike to Aaron Dopson was the only touchdown of the game for New England who finishes preseason with a 2-2 record. After the game, coach Bill Belichick would not say who the #2 guy behind Brady would be, or weather they will keep two or three QB's on the roster.

With Logan Mankins in Tampa, Josh Kline took all the snaps at left guard and played well with the exception of allowing a sack in the 4th quarter.

Tim Wright, the tight end who came over in the Mankins trade caught 4 passes for 43 yards.

Aaron Dobson played for the first time in preseason catching 3 passes for 57 yards and a touchdown.

The Patriots open the season next Sunday at Miami. You can hear the game live on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket starting at 10am.
