Turns out a 42-28 win over FIU was not enough to get Maine's Bobby Wilder and his Old Dominion University football team in the Conference USA title game but the Momarchs are heading to a first ever bowl game.

ODU needed to win and have Western Kentucky lose (WKY beat Marshall 60-6) in order to play for the conference title.

But Wilder's ODU team finishes 9-3 (7-1 C-USA) in the program's third year of FBS play.

Wilder was a standout QB at Madison HS. He captained UMaine football and then became offensive coordinator under Jack Cosgrove.
