The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Bangor and much of Down East Maine, calling for 2 to 5 inches of snow through Friday morning.

The advisory includes the cities of Bangor, Brewer, Orono, Old Town, Ellsworth, Blue Hill, Eastport and Machias. It is in effect from 10 p.m. Thursday to noon on Friday.

Motorists are urged to use caution, as visibility is expected to be limited at times.

The new round snow will come just as warmer temperatures melted much of the remaining snow from a Nov. 2 storm the dumped up to a foot of heavy, wet snow on the state, causing thousands of homes to lose power.
