It was a sloppy first quarter for both Brewer and Nokomis on opening night of the high school basketball season. The Witches kicked it in gear from the second quarter on and bat the Warriors 59-34,

Senior guard Brandon Glidden led the way with 14 points, including four three-pointers.

The Witches put 11 different players in the scoring column and they hit on a total of seven three-pointers.

22 days after their first ever football state championship, several of the Warriors struggled to find offense on opening night. Jayden Brooks and Andy Hopkins each had 10 points.

Brewer travels to Mt. Blue next Tuesday for the next game.

Nokomis will host Skowhegan next Tuesday.
