A Maine woman hit her boyfriend with her car after she reportedly saw him try to molest a 12-year-old girl. The boyfriend is a registered sex offender. Now both people are facing charges.

Police say Linda Currier, age 53 of Hampden, walked in on her boyfriend, 48-year-old James Oliver of Nobleboro, as he was trying to sexually assault her niece.The two got into an argument, which spilled outside. That's when Currier ran over Oliver with her car.

Oliver sustained an injury to his leg and is facing charges including attempted sexual assault. He's being held at the jail. Police also arrested Currier for OUI and aggravated assault. The girl did not require medical attention.

Oliver is a required lifetime registrant on Maine's sex offender registry, who had previously been convicted of rape and the sexual abuse of a minor.
