Dustin Pedroia's season might be over even thought 17 games remain on the Red Sox schedule.Pedroia had an MRI on his wrist Tuesday which showed inflammation and the possible need for surgery. Pedroia has played most of the season with the injury which he says had an impact on his lack of offensive production. Manager John Farrell says the medical staff is deciding if the best course of action is rest or surgery.
This is not the first time Pedroia has injured his wrist.He had surgery to repair a ligament on his left thumb last season.
