Simply put, the Red Sox can't seem to solve C.C. Sabathia. Last night's 6-2 loss gives the Yankee lefty a 4-0 record vs Boston this season. In 26 innings vs the Sox, Sabathia has a 1.04 ERA.

And apparently, when the Sox try to bunt on C.C. it makes him pitch even better (see below).

The fact is, the Red Sox had plenty of chances to get to the big lefty. Bases loaded and one out in the first inning, the Sox did not score. For the night, the Sox were 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position. They left 12 total runners on base while managing just four hits.

Meanwhile, the Yankees played long ball with Gary Sanchez and Greg Bird hitting home runs.

So the Yanks gain a game in the standings (now 4.5 back) with three more games this weekend.
