Little League baseball's Senior League World Series event will return to Mansfield Stadium in Bangor for a 14th consecutive year next August but there will be some changes.

Little League has set the 2015 world series dates for August 2nd through August 8th. That is two weeks earlier than previous years. Little League also will used a so called modified double elimination tournament format instead of straight pool play format.

The SLWS is comprised of 14 to 16-year-old players and 10 teams from around the world come to Bangor for a week of competition. The LL Maine District #3 championship team plays in the tournament field as host team.

MLB players such as Xander Bogaerts of the Red Sox, Kolten Wong of the Cardinals and Dodger closer Kenley Jansen played at the SLWS in Bangor.

NOTE:  SLWS tourney director Mike Brooker will be talking about the event and the changes during an appearance on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket's Morning Pitch Show at 6:50am tomorrow morning.
