Camden golfer Cole Anderson fired a 2-under par 69 in round three of the Southern Amateur Championship in Little Rock, Arkansas Friday afternoon.

That moves the 18-year-old golfer into a tie for 24th place in a field of some of the best amateurs in the nation.

Anderson's three-day score of 1-under par (212) makes him one of 28 golfers under par for the tournament. The lead score is 9-under par.

The final round is Saturday.

The 113th Southern Amateur Championship includes 15 state associations and is one of the oldest championship in the nation.

NOTE: Past winners of this tournament include past and present pro golfers such as  Webb Simpson, Justin Leonard, Bob Tway, Lanny Wadkins and the great Bobby Jones...Anderson is the 2019 Maine Amateur Champion and will play golf for Florida State in the fall.
