It's playoff time in high school hockey, and Sawyer Arena in Bangor on Tuesday night played host to a quarterfinal match-up between the No. 2 Bangor Rams and No. 7 Hall-Dale/Winthrop/Maranacook.

Bangor was 15-3 heading into the game. Previously, the teams' only meeting came in the first game of the season with the Rams winning 4-2.

But could they pull out another win?  Bangor took the lead in the 1st period with goals from Parker Sanderson and Cam Dixon while the states scoring leader, Dan Condon, could only get one in for the Hawks and spent a stint in the penalty box.

2nd period looked like it was going to go to the Rams early but the Hawks slammed three goals in toward the end of the period from players Matt Plourde and Zach Besette putting them back in the game.

3rd Period began with the score  5-4 Bangor. But the lead was fleeting as an early goal  by Hawk Matt Plourde tied it up. However, the 2nd seed team was not going to take that laying down and Justin Courtney led the charge with two goals as the Rams regained the lead and capped the win.  Final score 8-5 Bangor moving them into the semi-finals.
