Baron Scores Winning TD, Bapst Wins 28-22

With a spot in next week's LTC playoffs on the line the John Bapst Crusaders put together a playoff like 2nd half performance in a come-from-behind 28-22 win over Orono.Trailing 22-7 at halftime the Crusaders scored three unanswered touchdowns in the second half capped by the winning 9 yard touchdown run by quarterback Spencer Baron. The play came on a crucial 4th down and was a naked bootleg run to the left corner of the endzone. Tailback Jackson Leonard who only had 17 rushing yards in the first half finished the game with 122 and 3 touchdowns.

Not only did the Crusaders pick up their play on offense in the second half, their defense also came up big limiting the Red Riots to just 3 total yards over the final two quarters. Cornerback J.J. Higgins intercepted Orono's Jackson Coutts to seal the win and clinch a playoff spot in next week's semifinals.
