Bates Signed To Colts’ Roster

Former Maine football standout Trevor Bates has been promoted to the 53-man NFL roster of the Indianapolis Colts, according to Pro Football Talk.

Bates had been drafted by the Colts this past spring, but was released after the final game of preseason.  He was later put on the practice squad by the team after clearing waivers.

The former Black Bear will join the team after Indianapolis cut cornerback Antonio Cromartie and linebacker Sio Moore on Tuesday night.

The Colts are currently 1-3 on the year and will host the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon.
