Betts, Rutledge Lead Sox Past Orioles
The Boston Red Sox used 7 pitchers who combined on a 5-hit shutout that resulted in an 8-0 over the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park Saturday.Craig Breslow made his first career start and went the first 4 innings allowing just 2 hits and striking out 2. He was followed by a parade of 6 guys out of the bullpen who all had similar results and kept the birds off the scoreboard.
Mokkie Betts continues to be a lightning rod at the top of the order coming up with 2 hits, an rbi and scored 2 runs. Josh Rutledge drove in two runs for the Sox who only went 3 for 12 at the plate with runners in scoring position.
Boston will now play its final home game of the season when they close out their series with Baltimore by sending Henry Owens to the mound against Ubaldo Jiminez.
