The UMaine baseball's long 10-game losing streak is over - a sweep of a twinbill against New York Institute of Technology, 8-5 and 4-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Bears had not won a game since March 16th. The sweep puts Maine at 7-22.

GAME 1: The Black Bears had a big 6-run third inning to help get the day started. Danny Casals finished with four hits. Colin Ridley had five RBI. Justin Courtney pitched six innings to get the win. Nick Silva got a three inning save.

GAME 2: Maine Logan Fulmer pitched a complete game seven inning four-hitter, allowing just one run. He struck out 11 and walked just one. Casals and Ridley combined for four hits and three RBI.

UMAINE SOFTBALL: The Black Bears pulled off a sweep of their doubleheader vs UMass Lowell by scores of 6-0 and 13-0. The Bears sweep the weekend three game series and improve to 15-13. Erin Bogdanovich and Annie Kennedy both pitched shutouts.
