Something has got to give tonight when the UMaine women's basketball plays Purdue. The Black Bears defense is 20th in the nation, giving up just under 52 points per game. The Boilermakers score an average of 68 points a game.

Game on. It will be the first meeting between these two programs.

Coach Richard Barron's team is 9-4 and coming off back-to-back 30-point wins over Bryant and Clemson.

Purdue is coached by Sharon Versyp, who coached at Maine from 2000-2005, winning 98 games and three America East regular season titles plus one tourney title. She is now a 300 game winner at Purdue.

The Boilermakers are 8-2. Their two losses to Stanford and Boston College.

UMaine Men's Team... Coach Bob Walsh and his Bears play at Holy Cross tonight. It will be the 9th meeting between the Black Bears and Crusaders. The Cross has won seven times. UMaine is 2-8, Holy Cross is 4-6.
