Steding became the new Terriers head coach on the 6th, and today made Blodgett her first hire. The two played one season together in the WNBA as members of the Sacramento Monarchs in 2000. This will be Blodgett's second stop at BU after beginning her coaching career with the Terriers in 1999.

In a release issued by the school, Steding said "I am excited and humbled to welcome Cindy back into the Boston University family, with her elite experience as a player and coach, Cindy is a great fit for me and this team. Moreover, she is a person of great character and will be a terrific mentor and role model for the young women we lead."

BU made the coaching change after several players left the program citing verbal and mental abuse by former Head Coach Kelly Greenberg. Only six players are currently on the Terriers roster.
