The Boston Bruins wrapped up their 3-game road trip with a 4-0 shutout at Buffalo thanks in large part to the defense. Not only did the Bruins defense shutout the Sabres with goalie Niklas Svedberg stopping all 32 shots he faced, but 3 of Boston's goals were scored by defensemen.

Dougie Hamilton got the Bruins on the board in the first period off a pass from Patrice Bergeron. Before the period came to an end, Zedeno Chara scored his second of the season to give Boston some breathing room.

In the second period Tory Krug became the third defenseman to find the back of the net, beating Jason Enroth to make it a 3-0 nothing score. Feeling left out, Carl Soderberg got a tally for the forwards with the fourth and final goal of the game.
