Red Sox hitters piled up 19 hits including 4 homeruns and take down the Rangers 17-5.Mike Carp homered and drove in 3 to help lead Boston who also got three rbi each from Jackie Bradley Jr.and David Ortiz. Stephen Drew put together a 4 hit night as part of the Sox 19 hit attack.

Ryan Dempster picked up the win pitching 7 innings of 5-hit ball with 6 strikeouts. John Lackey looks for his 4th win of the season when he takes the mound in game two of the series on Wednesday.
