Highly successful Husson University softball coach Amanda Bourgoin is stepping down after seven seasons, including five consecutive NAC conference championships. The Eagles have gone 95-9 in conference play during her time at the helm.

Bourgoin's Eagles won their first NCAA regional game this spring, beating Bridgewater State.

Bourgoin also teaches at the Husson School of Business and will continue with that job. "Since becoming head coach of softball seven years ago, my career and family have changed and grown. With all of my other responsibilities, both professional and family, I can no longer invest the time that is needed to run a successful program at this level."

Husson will begin a national search to replace Bourgoin.

The school also announced that men's lacrosse coach Sean Murphy is leaving to become athletic director at La Lumiere School in Indiana. Murphy served several roles over the years at Husson including head coach of football in 2011 and 2012.
