Brewer Girls Win Class B Indoor Track Title

The Brewer girls scored 71 points and captured the Class B Indoor Track State Championship in competition held Saturday at Bates College in Lewiston.

The Witches own seven state titles in Class A but this is the first for Brewer in Class B.

Sophie Inman and Kaitlyn Helfen scored indiviual wins. Inman won the high jump and Helfen won the pole vault.

Brewer's team depth had the Witches in a lot of top threes in half of the events.

Girls Teams Finish:  #1 Brewer   #2 York     #3 Greely

Boys Teams Finish:  #1York    #2 Hermon    #3 Greely

NOTE: Orono's Camille Kohtala won the 400M and Long Jump events...Hermon's Zach Beaton won the 200M and High Jump...The Class A state championship meet is Monday at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham.
