It’s time for you to help us decide who should be the winner of this week’s High School Athlete of the Week.  We have two North Region football championship players as our candidates for this week’s McDonald’s Athlete of the Week.

Josh Buker of MCI helped lead the Huskies to a big 41-0 victory over Dexter in the Class D North Regional title game.  Buker went 7-11 on pass attempts for 127 yards with a TD, and had ten rushes for 78 yards, including another score.  The Huskies will now head to the state title game for the third straight season and will take on Lisbon Saturday.

MDI running back Colby Lee was a big part of the Trojans’ 12-7 victory over Winslow this past Friday night.  Lee rushed for 70 yards on 16 carries, including some big runs late to eat up time on the clock.  The rusher also had a good semi-final performance against Oceanside where Lee had 71 yards on 13 carries and a score.  For the season Lee has 938 yards on the ground for the regional champion Trojans.  MDI will take on Wells on Saturday afternoon.

The decision is up to you to choose who you think is the High School Athlete of the Week between these two great football performers!
