Calais came into tonight's game against Ellsworth with a record of 10-2. Their only two losses had come at the hands of Ellsworth and Houlton. They avenged their loss to Houlton on Friday, defeating the Shiretowners on Friday, January 16th 72-41 and after a hard fought game, avenged their loss to Ellsworth, by beating the Eagles 54-52.

Calais jumped out to a 18-17 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Tyler Niles had 8 points, Travon Rhodes hit 2 3-pointers for 6 points and Matt Perkins and Kyle Johnson had 2 points each for Calais. Ellsworth answered with 6 points from Nick Bagley, 4 points from Lukas Firestone, a 3-pointer from Bryce Harmon and 2 points from Cooper Henderson and Alex Braley.

After a high scoring 1st Quarter, the 2nd Quarter was relatively low scoring, with Calais taking a 30-25 lead at the Half. Niles and Zac Lola had 4 points for Calais and Andre Paul and Johnson added 2 points. For Ellsworth Derek Look had 4 points and Henderson and Conor Maguire had 2 points.

In the 3rd Quarter Calais led 46-38. Nathan Newell had 6 points, Lola had 3 points, and Niles, Perkins, Johnson and Rhodes each had 2 points. For Ellsworth, Nick Bagley had 3 points on a 3-pointer, Henderson had 3 points, Bruce St. Peter had 2 points and Braley had 2 points. Mitchell Domagala had 1 point and Conor Maguire had 1 points. In the 3rd Quarter, Ellsworth was 6-12 from the free throw line.

In the 4th Quarter, The Blue Devils scored just enough to hang on to beat Ellsworth. Johnson had 4 points and Niles had 4 points. Calais went 4-7 from the free throw line in the 4th Quarter. Ellsworth rode Bruce St. Peter who scored 8 points in the Quarter, Bagley had 4 points, and Maguire and Harmon each had 1 point. Ellsworth shot 3-6 in the 4th Quarter from the free throw line.

Calais was led by Tyler Niles with 17 points, while Kyle Johnson had 10 points. Calais was 10-14 from the free throw line for the game.

Ellsworth was led by Nick Bagley with 13 points, while Bruce St. Peter had 10 points. Ellsworth was 11-20 from the free throw line.

Calais is now 11-2, and plays host to Fort Kent on Saturday, January 24th at 2:30 PM.

Ellsworth is now 7-4, and plays at Foxcroft Academy on Wednesday, January 21st at 7 PM in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio.
