High School Sports: Decline In Kids Playing
For the first time in a long time, the numbers of kids playing high school sports in Maine, and all over the nation, is down. The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) gathers the information from its 51 state associations including the Maine Principals' Association.

Bangor and Brewer High School football teams hit the practice field today with an opening night date set for Friday, September 6th. And, for the first time in almost a decade the game will count as a regular season contest.

Earlier in the week, the Rhode Island Little League team was accused of stealing signs during play at the New England Regional Tournament. Today, the same team Rhode Island team got no-hit in its first game at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
