Cheverus RB Fitzpatrick Maine’s Gatorade Winner

Cheverus HS running back Joe Fitzpatrick has won the Gatorade Football Player of the Year Award for 2014-15. As a state winner, he now becomes eligible to be selected National Player of the Year.

Fitzpatrick rushed for 2,071 yards and 27 touchdowns for the Stags. He also played linebacker for the 8-2 Cheverus team.

Winning the Gatorade Award does not mean he he will win the Fitzpatrick Trophy, although winning both awards did happen last year when Cony HS quarterback won both.

The Fitzy finalists are expected to be announced soon.
