The Boston Celtics and Steve Clifford's Charlotte Hornets meet for the fourth and final time tonight and so much is at stake that it is being called a playoff game for both teams.

Hornets coach Clifford began his coaching career at Woodland HS after his college playing days at UMaine Farmington. Now in his second season as a NBA head coach, his  Hornets are 31-41 and half game behind the Celtics in the NBA east.

The Celtcs are 32-41 and that's a half game out of the 8th and final playoff spot.

The C's have eight games left after tonight, the Hornets have nine.

Perhaps most important to both teams tonight - the tiebreaker. Clifford's team has beaten the C's two of the three times so far this eason. A Charlotte win means the Hornets win a head-to-head tiebreaker. A Boston win means it is a 2-2 split.

NOTE:  Live coverage of the Celts vs Hornets begins at 6:30pm on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
