It's still very early in the NBA season but Maine's Steve Clifford knows his Charlotte Hornets need to pick it up a notch. And it starts tonight against the Boston Celtics.

Clifford, the former UMaine Farmington player and Woodland HS coach, is in his second season as head coach in Charlotte and it has been challenging so far. His Hornets are just 5-15 as new players such as Lance Stevenson tries to blend in with the Al Jeffersons and Kemba Walkers who helped make the Hornets a playoff team a year ago.

The Celtics come into Charlotte with a 7-12 record. A tough, double overtime loss to Washington Monday night.

NOTE:  You can hear Steve Clifford talk about taking on the Celtics tonight and his thoughts on his Charlotte team when he joins on the Morning Pitch Show today...Live coverage of the C's vs Charlotte game tonight following Bangor vs Hampden basketball tonight on Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket.
