For the first time in program history the Husson Eagles women's basketball team played a triple overtime game. So much for history though as the Colby Mules beat the Eagles 85-78.

Simply put, it was an early season thriller at Newman Gymnasium in Bangor.

Husson led by 10 points after one quarter. The lead was nine at the half and it was a four point Eagles lead after three quarters.

From that point on, it was a nail-biter for both sides.

Colby's Keagan Dunbar hit a three-pointer with seven seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 55-55 and send it to overtime.

Husson's Kenzie Worcester hit two free throws with two seconds left to tie the game at 63-63 and sent the game to double overtime.

The Eagles thought they had the game won in the second OT when Megan Peach hit two free throws to put her team up three with just six seconds left. But, Colby's Paige Russell came down the floor and nailed a three pointer at the buzzer and it was on to a triple overtime.

The Mules took control in this extra session, outscoring the Eagles 14-7 and winning tha game 85-78.

Ainsley Burns led Colby with 24. Keagan Dunbar added 22.

Kenzie Worcester led Husson with 29. Megan Peach added 22.

Colby moves to 3-1. Husson falls to 1-2.
