It was far from easy but the Boston Celtics found a way to beat the New York Knicks Friday night 96-92 and stay in the playoff hunt.

The Knicks have won just 14 games all year and tied a franchise record for losses actually played hard against the C's.

For the Celts, Isaiah Thomas led  with 18 points. Jae Crowder scored 17, Brandon Bass had 16.

Boston improves to 32-40. That keeps them in playoff position in 8th place.

NOTE:  The Celtics take on Doc Rivers and his LA Clippers Sunday night at 6pm. Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket has live coverage.
