The National Weather Service is warning of dangerous wild chills for the Bangor area Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Temperatures could reach 30 degrees below zero with the wind chill, according to the advisory posted Wednesday morning.

Forecasters warn that the cold temperatures combined with gusty north west winds could result in hypothermia or frost bite if precautions are not taken, so be sure to wear a hat and gloves if venturing outside.

The wind chill advisory will be in effect from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 11 a.m. Thursday.
