Demolition Of Cameron Stadium Underway

Last week we reported that the Bangor School Department was going to begin the Cameron Stadium makeover. This week the grandstands are being demolished.Crews have begun to strip the stands of of the surrounding concrete facade exposing the inner steal structure. The new grandstands will be placed further back from the field to leave room for an expanded track in the future. This first phase of the project also includes new lights, although they will not be ready for this football season. Bangor High games will have to be played during the day or at an alternate location. The grandstands are projected to be finished by week 2 of the season at the latest.
