Koji Uehara was asked to get the final four outs Friday night. No problem. 17 pitches later job done. His 15th save. Red Sox score the win over the White Sox 4-3. Add in a Tampa Bay loss and the Sox lead in the AL East is now 3 1/2 games.

Koji was the last piece to the pitching puzzle filled in by manager John Farrell. Tht puzle started with 6 1/3 good innings from Ryan Dempster - making his first start since his suspension for hitting A-Rod. He threw 99 pitches, giving up 3 runs, 5 hits, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Dempster gets credit for his 7th win.

Junichi Tazawa and Franklin Morales got four outs between Dempster and Koji.

On the offensive side, David Ortiz broke out of an 0 for 22 slump with a two run single in the 4th inning. Shane Victorino continued his hot hitting with two more hits, a RBI and a stolen base.
