The Dexter Tigers held off a late charge from the top-seeded Stearns to claim a spot in Saturday's regional final against George Stevens Academy.

The No. 1 Minutemen, who trailed throughout the game, were able to cut a double-digit lead to three points in the waning seconds, but No. 5 Dexter (15-6) was able to hold on to earn the 47-44 semifinal victory in Bangor Friday night.

Senior center Megan Peach had 23 points for the Tigers. Senior Kayli Cunningham added 12 for Dexter.

Senior Emma Alley ends her high school career with 20 points for the Minutemen of Millinocket, who end the season at 18-2. Julia Stanley added 8 points.

The Dexter win sets up a North final against George Stevens Academy, which has its own star center in Morgan Dauk, on Saturday.
