The Edward Little Red Eddies employed a strong defensive effort to knock off the Bangor Rams, 34-19, on opening night in high school hoops.The Red Eddies annoyed Bangor all game, winning the turnover battle, 24-7.

It was a struggle on offense for both teams a majority of the game, as Bangor had only four girls register points, while the Red Eddies had three.

The Rams were led by Katie Butler, who scored 13 points, including all 10 of Bangor's points in the first half.

E.L. outscored the Rams, 20-9, in the second half and were led by Piper Norcross with 13 points while Jordyn Reynolds added 10.

Boys Hoops:  At Auburn, the Edward Little Red Eddies beat Bangor on opening night 58-42.
