Eagles Drop Opener To Alfred 34-17

Alfred University quarterback Tyler Johnson threw five touchdowns against the Husson University defense on and beat the Eagles 35-14 on opening day.

Three of the TDs came in the second quarter and took a 7-7 game and made it a 20-10.

For the game, Johnson threw for 297 yards. the Saxons also rushed for another 142 yards.

Husson QB Joe Seccareccia(Bangor HS) was 15-for-39 and 139 yards.

Eagles offense totaled just 185 yards.

The two Husson TDs came on an 80-yard kickoff return from Shabashe McIntosh and a two yard run from Logan Steward(Hamdpen Academy).

The Eagles have a bye week and then will host Alfred State in another non-conference game on Septembr 20th.
