With the University of Maine basketball teams a week away from playing their first preseason games, players and coaches spent Wednesday meeting their fans.The programs held their first "Fan Jam" event where area youth were able to step on the court with this years men's and women's players for some friendly shooting competitions and received tips on improving their play from coaches Richard Baron and Bob Walsh.

The event took place after the women's America East preseason poll was released which had Maine picked to finish 5th in the conference. Junior Liz Wood was also named the preseason all-conference team.
