Joe Fitzpatrick's running combined with a stingy defense led to a 35-6 win over the Bangor Rams in the Eastern Maine class A semifinals.Fitzpatrick, the leading rusher in Eastern Maine carried the ball 37 times for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns. His 4 yard score got the Stags on the board late in the first quarter and his second came early in the second quarter and gave Cheverus a 21-0 lead at halftime.

Justin Johnson also scored twice for Cheverus who will meet Windham in next Saturday's Eastern Maine Championship game. The Eagles handed Cheverus their only loss of the season.

Bangor turned the ball over four times ad had their only touchdown on a 67 yard touchdown pass from Brian Pierce to Joe Johnson. Pierce was in the game after Jeff Lewis left with a shoulder injury late in the first half. The Rams end their season with a 5-4 record.
