Jim Boylen will be right where is he has been all season - helping head coach Greg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs win another NBA championship.

Back in 1987, Jim Boylen was a captain for coach Skip Chappelle and the UMaine Black Bear basketball program. He averaged 21 PPG and lost out on the conference player-of-the-year award to a guy named Reggie Lewis(Northeastern) - remember him?

Boylen's coaching career has taken him all over the college and pro game. He's been an assistant at Michigan State for Tom Izzo. He's been the head coach of the Utah Utes for four years.

Much of Boylen's time has been on the NBA bench, starting with the Houston Rockets in 1992. He stayed for 11 years (2 NBA titles).

Boylen was an assistant for Frank Vogel and the Indiana Pacers before this NBA season. Greg Popovich called him looking for help when Mainer Brett Brown took the Philadelphia 76ers head coaching job. Boylen jumped at the chance and now has another chance at another NBA title.

And after the NBA finals - there are some reports that link Boylen to the open head coaching job with the Utah Jazz.
