Jack Capuano and Ben Bishop sit atop the NHL stat sheets these days. Both are former UMaine Black Bears.

Coach Capuano's New York Islanders lead the NHL in wins with 19. That puts the Isles in first place in their Metropolitan Division with 38 points.

Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop has 16 of the 18 Lightning wins. He is 16-3-2 with a 2.20 GAA. Tampa Bay has 39 points in the standings, top in the Atlantic Division.

Capuano is in his fourth season as Islander head coach. He is a former UMaine defenseman who helped the Black Bears get to a Frozen Four appearance in 1988.

Bishop played at UMaine from 2006-2008, winning 34 games.
