Former UMaine basketball captain Jim Boylen is helping the Indiana Pacers as they try to get past Lebron James and the Miami Heat. Boylen is one of Frank Vogel's assistants.

Back in 1986 and 1987, Boylen captained Skip Chappelle's UMaine Black Bears. In fact, in his senior year he finished rummer-up for conference player of the year. Reggie Lewis won that award.

Boylen is spending his first year as an assistant coach in Indiana. He has been an assistant with the Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors. Boylen also was head coach of the Utah Utes for four years, winning the Mountain West Conference title in his second season.
