A couple days after wide receiver Wes Welker suffered his third concussion in nine months, questions abound on whether he will be able to return to the field or if he should retire.NFL protocols mandate that he must be tested and cleared by several physicians and remain symptom free for a week. Denver coach John Fox and quarterback Peyton Manning talked about Welker at their practice facility and voiced their concern.
The Broncos play their final preseason game Thursday at the Cowboys before opening the season at home against the Colts.
