Gilpin Scores Winner In OT, Broncos Beat Messo

The thriller of the high school hoops season to date  - Hampden 64, Messalonskee 62 in overtime.

Division one bound Nick Mayo sent the game into overtime with a three pointer with just a couple of seconds left in regulation. Part of his 32 point night.

After getting down six points in OT, the Broncos surged back to take the lead when he drove to the basket and scored with four seconds left. Part of his 22 point night.

The win puts the Broncos at 3-1. Messalonskee falls to 3-1.

It was a terrific game that stayed close all night. 11-11 after one quarter. Hampden hit a jumper at the buzzer to take a one point lead at the half. It was tied again 37-37 after three quarters. And, then tied 52-52 at the end of regulation.
