When the Husson women's soccer team takes the field this fall it will be a former Husson Eagle calling the shots as Amanda Cummings has been named Head Coach.Athletic Director Frank Pergolizzi made the announcement Monday that Amanda (Gifford) Cummings would be the 8th coach in program history and lead the program she was member of for three seasons. As a player she scored 5 goals and added 13 assists while helping get the team in two conference championship games. In addition to soccer she was also a three year member of the women's basketball program.

Cummings said of her hire, "I am excited and humbled by the opportunity to coach soccer at the college level. It has always been a dream of mine. Husson has been a home away from home for me and I can't imagine a better place to further my coaching career. I look forward to creating a team culture that nurtures both the student and the athlete, and capitalizes on our passion and love for the game. I know the athletes are anxious to get out on the field, which is always a good sign. We have some very strong players so I think this season is going to be a great one!"

Cummings has worked for Husson University as the Director of  Alumni Relations, and for the last two seasons has been the Head Coach of the Hermon High School girls basketball program.
