Bucksport's Softball Team Triumphs Against Central 11-3 In Regionals

The #1 Bucksport Lady Bucks won the Class C Northern Maine Regional Softball Title beating #6 Central 11-3 on Tuesday night, June 16th at Coffin Field in Brewer.

Bucksport was outhit 8-2 but took advantage of 5 Central errors and 8 walks.

Marina Keene was in the circle for Bucksport. The junior allowed 8 hits and 3 runs. She struck out 4 and walked 1.

Aili Spack was the losing pitcher for Centra. She allowed just 2 hits, striking out 5 and walking 8. Only 4 of the 11 runs that Bucksport scored were earned.

Addison Harvey had a double and drove in 2 runs for Bucksport. Lexi Raymond had Bucksport's other hit.

Raymond and Layken Varnum each had 3 stolen bases for Bucksport. Avery Robshaw had 1 stolen base.

Gabrielle Dickinson was 3-3, including a double for Central, driving in a run. Madison Moody had a pair of hits. Bayleigh Irish, Madeline Cox and Brooke Lundstrom each had a single.

Moody had a pair of stolen bases and Cox had 1 stolen base.

Bucksport will now take on #1 Dirigo in the Class C State Championship on Saturday, June 20th at 1 p.m. at Coffin Field in Brewer. Dirigo won the Class C Southern Maine Regional Championship after beating #2 Monmouth Academy 3-2 on Tuesday.
