Did you watch the Olympics?

Nearly 600 athletes competed for Team USA in the 2024 Summer Games in Paris, all of which looked to make their mark on the global stage by winning big.

As a testament to the hard work and determination, 12 of the 32 New Englanders on Team USA earned medals.

Stephen Nedoroscik of Worcester, Massachusetts, and Frederick Richard of Stoughton, Massachusetts, were the first New Englanders to earn a medal in the 2024 Olympic Games on July 29. Getting a bronze medal for their men's gymnastics team broke a 16-year medal drought!

Nedoroscik earned another bronze medal after competing individually in the men's pommel horse on August 3.

Kieran Smith won a silver medal for the men's 4x200m freestyle relay on July 30. That same day, Kristi Kirshe of Franklin, Massachusetts, and Ilona Maher of Burlington, Vermont, secured bronze medals for their women's rugby team after defeating Australia.

On August 1, Liam Corrigan of Old Lyme, Connecticut, won the gold medal along with his men's rowing (four) teammates.

Chris Carlson of Bedford, New Hampshire, and Henry Hollingsworth of Dover, Massachusetts, earned bronze medals with their teammates in the men's rowing (eight) competition on August 3.

On August 6, Gabby Thomas of Northampton, Massachusetts took home the gold medal in the women's 200-meter race. She then earned a second gold medal with her team in the 4x100m race on August 9. Thomas and Alexis Holmes of Hamden, Connecticut earned gold medals with their 4x400m team on August 10.

Alyssa Naeher of Stratford, Connecticut, and the women's soccer team took home the gold medal on August 10, and Jayson Tatum of Boston, Massachusetts, and the men's basketball team dominated their way to a gold medal that same day.
