Libby, Austin, Hotham, Carson Up For Athlete Of The Week [VOTE]

Time to vote for this week's High School Athlete of the Week. Nominations include state champion tennis players, home run hitters and strikeout pitchers.

Senior Katey Libby from Mattanawcook Academy tennis was the top seed on here Lynx team that claimed its second straight Class C state title. She won her match vs Carrabec without losing a game.

Junior Kathryn Austin from Brewer HS softball came back from a broken nose two weeks prior to hit a home run and two RBI in the Witches quarterfinal playoff win over Erskine Academy and then had a two-out, two-run double in a win over Medomak Valley in the semi-final win on Saturday.

Sophomore pitcher Bradley Hotham from Katahdin HS baseball struck out 18 batters in 6.1 innings in a quarterfinal playoff win over Stearns. That's 18 Ks out of a possible 19 outs.

Senior pitcher Colton Carson from Oxford Hills HS baseball threw a no-hitter vs Skowhegan in the quarterfinal playoff game. He struck out eight, walked three and threw just 98 pitches for the undefeated Vikings.
